Used sanitary pads & underwear- A new business

There have been recurrent tales in recent months of men caught with used women’s underwear.
In the Punch of January 4, 2019 there was a report of man in Akure Ondo state caught with a bag containing women’s underwear and used sanitary pads. He was suspected of trying to sell the booty to ritualists for money.

Whether you believe the story or not, is another thing entirely.
As far as I am concerned, it is better to err on the side of caution.
Coincidentally, over the years I’ve been very finicky about disposing sanitary pads and underwear.

This is what you should do:

  1. Don’t hang your underwear to dry overnight on the clothesline outside your house.
  2. If you can hang your underwear to dry in the bathroom, better for you.
  3. Cut up your old unwanted underwear and then burn.
  4. If you share bathroom ,have a dustbin for disposing your sanitary pads separate from the others use. The bin must have a cover.
  5. Avoid throwing the sanitary pads in the bin without it being wrapped in old newspaper or wrapped in used shopping bags. I usually combine both.
  6. Find a way to burn the used pads in one batch.
  7. Spread the word.
